Does a firewall prevent spyware and viruses before it gets on your computer?
May 16th
Question by cer: Does a firewall prevent spyware and viruses before it gets on your computer?
Best answer:
Answer by Linux OSNo, it doesn’t prevent spyware but it is a security feature. Really insecure systems – like the Microsoft Windows operating system – need loads of things besides firewalls. You’ll also need anti-virus, anti-trojan, anti-spyware, anti-virus and rootkit detectors on top of your firewall.
Use more secure systems, like Trusted Solaris and Red Hat Linux if you’re looking for security.
