Question by DZ: Are there any examples of viral marketing done by financial firms? There are hundreds of examples that I can find of viral marketing campaigns by gaming companies, beverage companies, and car companies, to name a few, however I have never come across a viral campaign pushed out by a financial/brokerage firm.

Answer by extremenerdThere are quite a few instances of viral marketing in the financial arena. Around tax time, several accounting firms (many of which offer other financial services as well) run contests (“Double your refund”, etc.). These contests generally engender quite a bit of word-of-mouth.
